Homemade Hot Fudge

This hot fudge is out of this world!! I dare you to find a better tasting hot fudge. It is super chocolatey, and incredibly smooth, not at all grainy.  I love this stuff. It is delicious on ice cream, and you add a brownie under the ice cream? TO DIE FOR! I never buy hot fudge. It is cheaper than store bought and a million times better, and it is made with 5 ingredients. It only takes about 15 minutes start to finish, you couldn’t even get to the store in the time you can have this crowd pleaser finished.  I remember one time a friend’s husband was shocked that one could make hot fudge from scratch. That still makes me chuckle a little bit. Trust me on this one, you’ll be so glad you made it.

The quality of this hot fudge is due to quality ingredients. I use a high quality chocolate chips, like Guittard or Ghirardelli. In a medium sized pot, chocolate chips and butter are melted together.

Just look at that shine!!

Time for the evaporated milk and powdered sugar. Whisk very well until completely smooth.

Bring the hot fudge to a boil and whisk constantly, boiling for 8 minutes. Mind the edges of the pan, ensuring all surfaces are stirred. Then remove from heat and stir in the pure vanilla extract.

This luscious hot fudge is ready for a banana split, a hot fudge sundae or my Un-fried Ice Cream (see picture below).
